He burst onto the scene in 1975 as guitarist for Koko Taylor`s Blues Machine & Willie Dixon`s All-Stars. He has gone on to become leader w/almost a dozen albums ranging from obscure 30`s Delta to contemporary soul blues.
Singer/actor who appeared in 1951 MGM musical `Show Boat` singing `OI` Man River` & recorded definitve `Porgy & Bess` for RCA in 1963. This was recorded in 2000 w/Bill Cater`s Jazz Band and at times his own piano.
Discovered by Charlie Musselwhite & went on to be in Earl Hooker`s best band, in bands of Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Willie Dixon, Howlin` Wolf. These are his 1st sessions w/players he came up with, & there`s passion & hunger in his playing.
